EMAIL AND STORAGE ADMINISTRATOR
(National Capital Reg – Pasig City)

Responsibilities:
The role of IT Operations – Email & Storage Administrator is to manage Email servers and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various business applications supported. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure Email provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for Exchange & Gordano Mail-based messaging and collaboration solutions in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
• Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to implement Exchange & Gordano Mail systems that utilize industry best practices to meet enterprise objectives.
• Install, configure, and initiate Microsoft Exchange & Gordano Mail servers, software, and any required equipment.
• Perform all tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements regarding Exchange & Gordano Mail-based messaging and collaboration availability and security; including those involving user accounts, shared folders/calendars, mailing lists.
• Implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure Exchange & Gordano Mail server security through secure access, monitoring, control, and routine security evaluations.
• Manage Exchange & Gordano Mail database(s), antivirus applications, messaging filtering, and error log tracking.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform software patches, upgrades, and/or purchases.
• Ensure that Exchange & Gordano Mail server implementations comply with policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines
• Remain informed on laws, trends, and issues, including current and emerging technologies and best practices related to Exchange & Gordano Mail and e-messaging.
• Perform message archiving, retrieval, and deletion according to best-practices for maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Anticipate, mitigate, identify, respond to, and resolve problems affecting messaging systems performance, efficiency, and availability.
• Provide on-call technical support for end users.
• Support application development teams and software migrations to new e-mail server platforms or newer versions of Exchange & Gordano Mail.
• Monitor, test, and analyze e-mail system and server software activities to ensure maximum performance, efficiency, and availability.
• Assess need for any messaging system reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them if required.
• Create required reports in response to business needs.
• Develop, implement, document, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for messaging system administration and appropriate use.

Requirements:

• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.

• Certifications including MCSE Messaging (Exam 70-284, 70-285) or MCM MS Exchange & Gordano Mail 2007

• Proven experience with Microsoft Exchange 2003 & Gordano Mail administration with 3 years experience.
• Working technical knowledge of current messaging and collaboration systems software, protocols, and standards, including Microsoft SharePoint, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Gordano Mail Server, Storage Area Network and Jabber Instant Messaging Solution.
• Knowledge of industry best practices for e-mail privacy and regulatory compliance, routing, filtering, monitoring, tiered storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Strong working knowledge of patch management and change control practices.
• Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
• Extensive experience with Active Directory.
• Extensive support experience with IIS and .NET application architecture.
• Working technical knowledge of clustered Exchange & Gordano Mail 2000/2003 architecture.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server database management.
• Experience with high-availability design (failover systems and data replication).
• Previous exposure to server virtualization technologies.
• Previous migration experience to Exchange 2003 & Gordano Mail.
• Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
